The soil of our planet is endlessly drawn, shaped by the footsteps of men running through it. Each step is a line, stroke of a pen for the future landscape ...
What evidence do we choose to leave? DNA fingerprints, the DNA can be seen through his convictions. The name says it all: both fingerprint social, economic and environmental footprint displays values, options for the future, people and planet.
After two long years of reflection, observation, research, Footprint has chosen a balanced approach between all these values. Eco citizen values, local development, attention to quality in harmony lead the project footprint.
The EPV Label
The label "Living Heritage Company" (EPV) is a mark of recognition from the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry, established to distinguish between French companies to craftsmanship and manufacturing excellence. Fingerprint obtained this label after a review of all of its conditions of production and is proud of this recognition of its social investment, economic and ecological.
The choice of French manufacture
More complex than the environmental footprint to codify and recognize the social footprint meets the requirements that seem essential. Our first criterion is to ensure the production of our products in France, land of human rights, the Enlightenment and the pleasure of work well done.
France is a historic land of knowledge and know-how in production of shoes. Make the choice of the French-made is choosing the product quality is also involved in the professional development of our employees.
Footprint, while maintaining local production meets some of his demands: quality products, no producer of CO2 transport, promotion of local employment, respect for the social conditions of production.
Focus on sustainable development
Footprint uses only raw materials and ensures its European manufacturing facilities in France. These choices were made with a view to participation in the sustainable development of our economy. So does the industry based on this type of choice and we are proud to be in our position, we include in the economic success of our territory.
Our raw materials are diverse: leather cows in France (Dordogne, Cantal) Vegetable tanning, rubber outsole with recycled leather laces French.
The concern for the ecological footprint
Our commitments in terms of environmental protection are numerous:
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions (by the choice of local production and use of European materials)
- Choosing a vegetable tanning process
- Use of recycled cardboard packaging
- No use of chromium (allergenic products)
- Vegetable leather laces
- Cork and coconut fiber from the recycling industry
An eco responsible
More generally, each stage of production and distribution is subject to our vigilance eco-friendly, sole, laces, leather ... all items are manufactured to a convergence of values chosen by Footprint. For example, the soles are made of 20% recycled rubber, the ratio is maintained at this level because the subjects voluntarily would not present the safety and soundness that we demand of our products. Each element is the fruit of long reflection, of a real agreement between our economic and social ecological requirements
The recycling of shoes can spontaneously be considered a good idea to protect the planet. Unfortunately, the reprocessing plants are rare and remote French territory. Currently, the most effective solution based on the associations and charitable sectors of recycling and recovery of clothing items and accessories.
On the trail of footprint ....
Beautiful and great family story, Imprint is the latest of a great adventure started in 1946 by Victor and Maximilian Le Bigot (VicMax). Each generation has since then participated, helped it grow the business, each bringing his knowledge, his vision, leaving its mark.
The choice of the responsible development and local footprint is not made by opportunism encountered all too often, it is part of the family history written in the time and respect for all.
Anthony Le Bigot, grand son of the founders, convinced that the world is not disposable, and that sustainable development must partner with local quality, now this brings new life to the family business
The dates that marked:
1946: Company founded in 1946 under the name Vicmax. At that time Victor and Maximilian Le Bigot (hence the name Vic-max) decide to make shoes for men and children. Supplies are regional, machines made in part "home" by the ingenuity of Victor Le Bigot (some are still running ...) and sale by Maximilian Le Bigot. The success helping, they employ staff and soon the company produces over 30,000 pairs a year. The company overcomes the difficulties associated with the oil crisis of the 70s.
1978: The Arrival of Roger Bigot. After training at the School of shoe Romans sur Isère, he joined the company and brings a new breath. He decided to embark on an emerging market, the safety shoe. It allows the range and distribution system change. He created the brand SOLIDUR. The company continues to expand, offering every year more and more technical articles and safe.
2007: Anthony Le Bigot, the little son of the founders, came to his turn. It works in parallel Solidur a new range that will have a strict schedule of conditions: the shoes will be solid, comfortable and "eco-friendly" while respecting the consumer.
2010: The specifications required a search over 2 years on raw materials. The aim is to integrate all of the chain and to be pragmatic. An additional year of research, testing and developed was necessary for the company to present its collection footprint.
2011: Imprint a step further and enter the world of web, local adventure opens a new horizon.
